Chelsea and AJ got married under a tent at the Crystal Coast Country Club in Atlantic Beach, North Carolina (due to the rain). Judy Hailey, their wedding coordinator, did an amazing job of quickly adjusting and procuring a hard to find tent. They had a nautical theme that went perfectly with their location which overlooked Bogue Sound.  Their navy and coral colors tied in with the nautical theme. Don’t worry, though, because the rain couldn’t stop this wedding party. Sometimes I think the rain makes everyone even more determined to have fun, because it seems to always precede the best receptions.
Be sure to read how the rain made Chelsea feel on her wedding day and how she dealt with it below.
Having all of my favorite people in one place!! Everyone had told me to embrace the fact that we would have both sides of our friends and family all in one place, and they were completely right! I wish we could go back and do it all over again!
The terrible weather and the way everyone made the most of it! We ended up getting some absolutely stunning photographs at our rehearsal dinner & at our wedding that we couldn’t have gotten without the rain.
Don’t sweat the small stuff! The week of our wedding, I was so upset about our weather. (We had horrible rain and wind for the entire weekend, and we had selected our venue because of the beautiful waterfront scenery. Many of my husband’s family had never been to the beach/ North Carolina before!) Thanks to my laid back husband, I decided to stop worrying and think of our terrible weather as a funny joke that would “only happen to us.” As a result, I had a complete BLAST and could not have been less stressed on the day of the wedding. Moral of the story: relinquish things that are out of your control and just have the BEST time! You will enjoy it so much more & those who have to be around you will be very grateful. 😉
No and I really wish that I had! My wedding dress came in the day before our rehearsal, so I did not have time to get the bridal portraits with my horse that I had hoped for. Ellen does such unbelievable work that I really regret not doing more sessions beforehand.
The only thing I would change is the weather (over which I had no control!), so nothing!
