Samantha and Jonathan wanted a private ceremony on the beach in December. By using a ferry service, they were able to hire a boat to take them and their guests to the back side of Bird Shoals, an uninhabited island just across from Beaufort, NC. The groom and his guests arrived first to set up the altar.
Because of Jonathan’s Hawaiian heritage, he ordered a special groom’s lei that I think every beach groom should consider! Also in the Hawaiian tradition, the fathers of the bride and groom gave their blessings at the end of the ceremony.
Samantha was hoping for a guest appearance from the wild ponies that live on this island, but she’ll have to save that for her anniversary.
