After watching baby whisperer Kelly Brown on CreativeLive, I picked up some new props and tools to use at my newborn photo sessions. I’m not sure how much was her techniques that she demonstrated, how much was the new tools, and how much was the simple fact that these babies were so sweet and tired…but this was one of my favorite newborn sessions ever! It really surprised me, because I see newborns as being the most difficult subjects ever because you are totally at their mercy. I figured that twins would be nearly impossible, so I came more prepared than ever.
I found the headband on an Etsy shop, Luneberry. I must say that her customer service was outstanding. When the mother told me she was having a boy and a girl, I wanted to make sure it was obvious who was who! Little did I know that the big brother would truly be the BIG brother. Weighing significantly more than her, he felt like her protector, and I just love the images where his arm is around her and their fingers are barely touching like Michaelangelo’s Sistine Chapel image where God and Adam reach their hands towards each other.
These two sweeties are now part of my baby plan, so you should be seeing more of them in the future. Since it is my first set of twins, it will be a unique experience and I can’t wait to see what new ideas it brings.
